Stiff Upper Lip

The album "Stiff Upper Lip" was released in 2000 and is AC/DC's fourteenth studio album. It was produced by George Young, uncle of Malcolm and Angus Young, marking his fifth collaboration with the band. This was also the last album that George Young produced for AC/DC before he passed away in 2017.

The recording process for the album took place from September to November 1999 at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver. The studio was chosen to provide a fresh energy and new environment for the band. During the recordings, AC/DC adopted an energetic approach, leading to the creation of classic tracks like "Stiff Upper Lip" and "Safe in New York City."

The album features some of their most well-known songs and presents a thoroughly rock-oriented concept. It includes singles such as "Stiff Upper Lip," "Safe in New York City," and "Satellite Blues." The title track was released in January 2000, while the third single release, "Satellite Blues," came out a year later.

At its time of release, the album received critical acclaim and is today regarded as one of their finest works. It showcased AC/DC's ability to maintain relevance and evolve within the hard rock genre despite changing times.

This album marked a comeback period for the band after a three-year hiatus between the albums "Bonfire" (1997) and "Stiff Upper Lip." The success of the album ushered in a new phase of their career, which continued with the 2008 release of "Black Ice."

The recordings of "Stiff Upper Lip" were described as particularly productive and creative. In interviews at the time, Brian Johnson and Angus Young highlighted George Young's role in the band process as well as the atmosphere during the recording sessions.
