故事发生在东北小城松江市。一群来自全国各地的农民工，怀惴着形形色色的梦想，聚拢在“香榭丽舍”公寓的建筑工地上。他们深知，自己用汗水筑就的终究是城里人明天的梦榻，不求别的只要不拖欠工资就谢天谢地。在简陋的工棚里，上百名年龄、性格不等的民工挤在一起，质问工长谢老大（马少骅 饰），拖欠的工资啥时侯发，好多人指着这点钱送孩子上学、为老人看病。谢老大的回答令人失望愤怒，绝望的民工们砸开了工地负责人张彪（胡晓光 饰）的办公室，谁知他早已逃之夭夭。面对血汗钱被他人挪用，民工们被迫集体追讨，可是等待他们的却是无耻的威胁和恫吓，这时候，谁能帮帮这群无助的民工......

Towards the Republic, also known as For the Sake of the Republic and Zou Xiang Gong He, is a Chinese historical television series first broadcast on CCTV in China from April to May 2003. The series is based on events that occurred in China between the late 19th century and early 20th century that led to the collapse of the Qing Dynasty and the founding of the Republic of China. Owing to its portrayal of historical issues deemed politically sensitive by the Chinese government, the series has been subject to censorship in mainland China.

During a turbulent time from 1915 to 1921, Chen Du Xiu and Li Da Zhao, along with other like-minded individuals, founded the Magazine La Jeunesse that started the New Culture Movement. The magazine promoted science and democracy and revolutionized the thinking of the masses and encouraged them to fight against imperialism that has been ingrained in everyone. The series follows a colorful cast with various well-known authors, politicians, and revolutionists as they all try in their own way to save their country.

1948年，国共两党的搏杀已经到了最为关键的时刻。国统区政经体制混乱失控，物价飞涨，贪官横行，国民政府的统治早就危如累卵，大厦将倾。与此同时，另一头国民党空军笕桥航校上校教官方孟敖（刘烨 饰）正因违抗军令接受审判。方出身于富庶世家，他是中央银行北平分行经理方步亭（王庆祥 饰）的公子，而另一个身份则是我党潜伏在国军中的地下党员。方经蒋经国干涉，得以免罪转到国防部预备干部局，随后参与“孔雀东南飞”行动调查北平分行的舞弊行为。身处时代的乱流当中，一面有来自国军内部的猜忌和调查，一面有来自同僚的暗算和倾轧，更有战火当前纷繁迭出的险状。方和所有地下工作者们以其赤血丹心铸就了新中国崛起的基石……

In 1948, as China's civil war reaches a critical point and the Kuomintang's economy collapses, Communist agent Fang Meng'ao goes undercover as an Air Force colonel. The Emperor in Han Dynasty,[1] also released under the title The Emperor Han Wu in some countries, is a 2005 Chinese historical television series based on the life of Emperor Wu of the Han dynasty. It uses the historical texts Records of the Grand Historian and Book of Han as its source material.

The series covers the life of Emperor Wu from his early childhood to his death and some events in the reign of Emperor Jing (Emperor Wu's father and predecessor), such as the Rebellion of the Seven States. It follows the conflicts that defined the pivotal war between the Han Empire and the Xiongnu, and depicts the major victories that the Han scored over the Xiongnu during Emperor Wu's reign. Prominent historical figures such as the generals Li Guang, Wei Qing and Huo Qubing, as well as the diplomats Su Wu and Zhang Qian, also make appearances as supporting characters in the series.
