I've run a sweet training session a couple of days ago
It was on the time trial race machine, which makes it easy to run at these speeds. At this point in time the bike has a mountain steering setup which means it doesn't have the commandeurs and time trial handlebars, making the performance even more valuable.

What are people's thoughts on rim brakes? #bikeTooter #cycling

I'm researching my first bike, and I'm a bit put off by what I've read about the wet weather performance of rim brakes. Is it really as bad as people say, or are they fine if you're careful?

From a maintenance/price standpoint they seem better than disk brakes, but I also fundamentally hate the idea of brakes that don't brake well. This is for city commuting, not for sport/rough terrain/etc, if that changes your answer. :)
